# Understanding Insurance Coverage and Payment for Therapy Sessions
## This article explains how to determine insurance coverage per session and the payment process for therapy services.
Understanding Insurance Coverage Per Session:
Shift Collab is a **private-pay therapy clinic, which means we do not directly bill insurance providers. Instead, you pay for your sessions upfront and can submit receipts to your insurance provider for reimbursement — depending on your plan's coverage.**. This means we do not offer direct billing to insurance providers. Instead, clients pay for sessions upfront and can submit receipts for reimbursement, depending on their coverage.
1. **Contact Your Insurance Provider**:
To understand what your plan covers, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly. They can confirm:
- Coverage for therapy services
- Whether services provided by a Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist are eligible
- Your per-session and annual limits
1. **Payment Process**:
- **Upfront Payment**: You pay for your therapy sessions upfront. We currently accept credit card and Visa debit.
- **Receipt for Reimbursement**: After your session, you'll receive a receipt via email that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is subject to your plan's coverage and is not guaranteed.
