Why don't you have more Google or Trust Pilot reviews?
We're owned by a Registered Social Worker, meaning we're a regulated business. As part of that, we can't ask anyone for reviews.
We're a professional corporation registered under the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the same college that licenses our co-founder and owner, Megan Rafuse, RSW. That registration comes with real limits on how we can market ourselves, and one of the biggest is this: we're not allowed to ask clients for reviews, ratings, or testimonials.
Both of our regulating colleges are explicit about it. The OCSWSSW's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice states that registrants "shall not solicit clients for endorsements, reviews or testimonials."
Our Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) follow the same rule under the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), which says registrants "do not request or solicit testimonials." Both colleges treat a review as a kind of endorsement, and asking a client for one blurs the line between your therapy relationship and our marketing. That's a line they want kept clear, for your protection, not ours.
A lot of the therapy practices you'll come across online aren't owned by a regulated clinician, so this rule simply doesn't apply to them the same way. That's part of why some show up with hundreds of reviews and we don't. We'd rather stay on the right side of that line than chase a number.
