Can you provide a mental health diagnosis, or prescribe medication?
We do not offer diagnostic services, or medical prescription management.
At Shift Collab, we work with Registered Social Workers (RSWs) and Registered Psychotherapists (RPs). Neither RSWs nor RPs are permitted to diagnose or prescribe medication.
Who can conduct a mental health assessment or prescribe medication?
Only a medical doctor (a family doctor or specialist psychiatrist) or a licensed psychologist can conduct a full mental health assessment and offer the supporting documentation. Of these professionals, only a medical doctor is covered by OHIP and can also prescribe and manage medication.
