# How do I know if I’m covered for therapy?
## Check with your extended health benefits provider!
## Is psychotherapy or social work covered by insurance in Ontario?
Psychotherapy and social work are not covered by OHIP, OW, or ODSP, but most extended health benefit plans do cover these services. Check with your insurance provider to confirm your eligibility and approved rates before booking.
### What government programs cover psychotherapy or social work?
While psychotherapy and social work are regulated health professions in Ontario, they are unfortunately not covered under OHIP, OW or ODSP.
### Does extended health insurance cover psychotherapy and social work?
The majority of extended health benefits do cover psychotherapy and social work services (typically in your health and dental insurance package from your employer).
### How do I check my coverage for counselling services?
We encourage you to speak with your insurance provider about counselling services provided by a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP) to determine your eligibility and approved rates of coverage.
**Please note:** We do not reimburse sessions if it turns out you do not have coverage.
