# What if my therapist and I are not a match?
## If you started therapy with us in the past 30 days and aren't totally satisfied, we'll rematch you to a new therapist and give you a free session with them!
## What is the Shift Collab Fit Guarantee?
The Shift Collab Fit Guarantee means that if you are not completely satisfied with your therapist match within 30 days of your first session, we will rematch you with a new therapist and provide your first session with them at no cost.
To get the most out of therapy, the relationship with your therapist must be strong. In fact, research consistently shows that the therapeutic alliance — the bond between a client and their therapist — is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy outcomes.
## Why does the therapeutic alliance matter?
At Shift Collab, we take great care in matching you with the right therapist.
Even so, sometimes the connection isn’t quite right after a session or two — and that's completely okay.
That’s why we have our [Fit Guarantee.](https://support.shiftcollab.com/our-fit-guarantee?hsLang=en) If you're not completely satisfied with your therapist match within 30 days of your first session, we’ll rematch you with a new therapist and provide your first session with them at no cost.
